The Amadeus Music Education Program is an initiative of Sydney Catholic Schools and was commenced at the College in 2021.This program gives every student the opportunity to receive access to an orchestral instrument and tuition throughout Years 7 and 8.
Learning an instrument can bring sheer joy to students and the research is clear that the benefits for students who learn an instrument go well beyond the realms of music education.
Music promotes wellbeing, boosts brain power, improves language skills, memory and coordination. It is a longstanding fact that there is a significant link between mathematical expertise and the skills developed learning an instrument.
The students at Holy Spirit have the opportunity to learn the following instruments: violin, viola, cello, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, euphonium and the baritone horn.
